Working of the department

Primary task of this department is to perform Embroidery work on different part of designs. These parts will be pasted during stitching operation based on the design.

The department follows the practice of outsourcing in case of strict deadline of the production. However most of the time production work is performed in-house only. So there was a requirment to manage both channal of the production.

The actual operations are performed by machine called embroidery machine. These machines also classifed further based on the type of the work it performs, e.g. Sequence, Multi, Chain, Coding etc.

The hierarchical structure of workers are as per following :

Role

Responsibility

Master

Top level role which is been assigned group of machines along with number of supervisors

Supervisor

Intermidiate role which take care of usually 10 machines along with its operators.

Operator

A person which operates on a machine. Usually, one operator is required for one machine. In some cases one operator may control two machines as well depending on the nature of the work.

Helper

A role which helps operator for his activity, however not accountable for performance related issues.

Even though the actual work is performed by the machine, the performance in terms of qualtity and the productivity hugely depends on the operator which handles the machine. Therefore, salaray model of the production unit is to be derived based upon the desired production. Also, there are no standards to compute the desired production, hence there was a need of data mining approach to suggest desired production as well.

The objective of the system is to satisfy these diversified requirements and automate the working in order to optimize the overall performance of the department.
